Thanks for the emails and comments on the last post (I'm still reading them, I've read all the emails, but haven't responded to them all yet)! It's enlightening to hear about how you treat fashion and makeup. Speaking of makeup, I've started a makeup tumblr the other day with my friend Chi-Chi. BECAUSE I AM NOT ON THE INTERNET 24/7 ANYWAY. I noticed that a lot of beauty blogs/tumblrs only really represent blonde haired blue eyed fashion models and I didn't like it so I am trying to show different faces.

Also, my friend Ria sent me a belated birthday present the other day from her shop. None of the photos I took were satisfactory besides this one, but if you follow me on twitter you know what these shoes look like because I twitpic'd them the other day. Posting is gonna be more sporadic than usual until school is over because I've got a lot of final papers to write, but hopefully I'll crank out some good stuff before you all forget me hahaha. let's talk about things

Super attractive screencap face, I know. Also, I apologize for the scrappy  lighting, it was the first and only time I filmed in non-natural lighting sooooooo. I was a little nervous at first as you can tell because I don't want to misspeak but bear with me.

I was reluctant to make a video on feminism (so it's not completely about that) because it's kind of a constant learning process -- my view and knowledge of it's history and many branches expands and changes every day, so if I were to try to discuss feminism in one video it'd instantly become dated because my view has changed a little bit. So I'm not going to be talking about feminism as a political theory until I feel more confident in it. Besides, this is a fashion blog first and foremost. Right now, I just wanna know about YOU and what fashion makes YOU feel.

 I've already gotten a bunch of wonderful and poignant responses through email and on the youtube page but it is only right to post the video here too. Hopefully after watching this you'd like to leave a comment here discussing your relationship to fashion -- in my next video I'll break it down into more specific questions because the private response was so good -- but ummm yeah. This was primarily directed to my female readers because it deals with makeup and things that are typically feminine but the same questions can be applied to others when you replace makeup with something overtly male. Activities or objects that represent gender ideals like makeup and 'manly' things like sports (since it's male dominated?) do you actively participate in them and would you if you weren't male/female/non-binary/genderqueer? Why, do you suppose?

These are topics I think about all the time, and I've filled up a bunch of journals delving into my relationship with it all but I just wanna see what you guys make of it all. :)

My oppa Scott wanted this post to be named something obscure and shit but his suggested title was so obscure I forgot it so whatevs. Sorry bro. Anyway, hi!!!! I wasn't intending to take outfit photos today (well, probably tomorrow in internet time. Scheduled post, ya dig?) but I just wanted to test out one of my tripods. I'm madly in love wit hit. It's actually in bed with me right now. It resulted in some nice photographs that I am actually proud of for once!

I got this dress off of some shady China ebay store that had bad grammar and shoddy photos. I purposely seek out shoddy photography on ebay to amuse myself and often their clothes are much less expensive than the well photographed and styled vintage ebay stores.

This dress is normally not my thing and I've been puzzled as to how to wear it until today. I got it because I saw this really awesome girl in an issue of FRUiTS wearing something like this, a denim cropped jacket and silver lame leggings and sneakers (i think?) and I was soooooo obsessed with her I had to find a dress like hers. I dunno why I didn't save the picture onto my computer, dumb of me. Anyway, I spent several hours trolling ebay for one and this was suspiciously similar and it makes me happy.





The jacket is the same one I wore a year ago to speak at Columbia. Still weird that I was on the same panel as Joe Zee and Carol and Humberto from Opening Ceremony, I was so scared I was gonna nervously sweat and ruin this jacket. >_> It's one of my favorite jackets, even though I hate the fact linen wrinkles so easily. I'm also wearing a new watch from Modcloth (they kindly sent it to me along with my new favorite bag, you'll see it in a future post!). You can buy the pink version here. I'm a sucker for watches, I've got a pretty childish and extensive collection. I'll need to show you one day.

Anyway, I'm off to..not actually do anything productive, just eat peeps and read The Coveteur and organize my makeup collection ohoho. I'll talk to you see in a future video post. :)
